This is a very basic tutorial on how to start your RatBot. Once you have it down, try using the RatCenter, and experimenting with different FOVs. If you are detected as a Ratbot or Zbot, it means that the server has bot detecting software running, and thus the server doesn't want bots, so leave. If you persist you will most likely get banned from the server. Find a server that doesn't prohibit bots.

Using the Rat Center

Once you've successfully connected to a server and started using your ratbot, you might want to try out the Rat Center. RC is a sort of gamespy for the ratbot.

Unzip the contents of RCC.zip into your Quake2 directory

Start Rcc.exe

Make sure the paths to Quake2 & ratbot.exe (ideally they should be the same) are correct.

Click the "open" folder and select the file "Server.rat"

You will be presented with lists of servers indexed by tabs.

Chose a server and double click it.

Ratbot will start, followed by Quake2, and you're in the game
